The Wedding Story

A Tuscany Wedding Weekend That Felt Natural Because Every Detail Had Been Considered

Yunna and Nick travelled from the United States to celebrate their wedding at Villa La Selva, a historic wine estate surrounded by vineyards, stone architecture and the autumn landscape of the Valdambra countryside.

Their vision extended beyond a single wedding day. They wanted their guests to have time to arrive, connect and experience Tuscany together through food, hospitality and a relaxed sequence of shared events.

Dolce Promessa developed the complete weekend structure, while Light & Dreams worked within the same creative and operational direction to document the experience through photography and film.

Planning, timing, guest movement, design and visual storytelling were therefore not treated as separate disciplines. They were developed as connected parts of one complete celebration.

The Couple’s Vision

A Refined Wedding Experience Rooted in Tuscan Hospitality

Yunna and Nick wanted their celebration to feel elegant without becoming overly formal, and thoughtfully designed without appearing staged.

The weekend needed to reflect the natural character of Tuscany and the warmth of the people sharing it with them. Rather than concentrating every experience into one highly structured day, the celebration unfolded gradually.

The pizza party introduced guests to the social rhythm of Italy. The cooking class created a more personal connection with the destination. The wedding day then brought ceremony, design, hospitality and celebration together without losing the relaxed atmosphere established during the previous events.

The Venue

Why Villa La Selva Was the Right Setting for Their Tuscany Wedding Weekend

Located in the Valdambra countryside between Arezzo and Siena, Villa La Selva offered vineyards, olive groves, historic architecture, privacy and enough variety to host several distinct experiences within the same destination.

The property allowed the weekend to evolve without repeating the same atmosphere. Informal gatherings could feel relaxed and convivial, while the wedding day could move through ceremony, aperitivo, dinner and celebration using spaces with different identities.

For guests travelling from the United States, the venue became more than the setting for a ceremony. It became the centre of a shared Tuscan experience built around place, food and time spent together.

The Wedding Weekend

Three Experiences Designed to Bring Guests Into the Rhythm of Tuscany

The weekend was structured as a gradual journey rather than a sequence of unrelated events. Each gathering had its own purpose, atmosphere and degree of formality.

By the time the wedding day arrived, guests already felt connected. Conversations were easier, emotions were more immediate and the wedding felt like the culmination of a shared experience rather than a standalone event.

01

Pizza Party

A relaxed welcome experience built around informal Italian food, conversation and an easy first introduction to the venue.

02

Cooking Class

An interactive guest experience designed to create connection through Italian food, culture and shared participation.

03

Wedding Day

The emotional and visual centre of the weekend, bringing ceremony, hospitality, design and celebration into one directed experience.

The Planning Challenge

Coordinating a Multi-Day Tuscany Experience for International Guests

A wedding weekend requires a different operational structure from a single-day celebration. Each event needs its own suppliers, schedule, setup, guest communication and production rhythm while remaining part of one coherent experience.

The countryside setting added another layer of coordination. Supplier access, lighting, sound, catering service, guest movement and event transitions all had to be planned in relation to the physical layout of the estate.

Dolce Promessa managed the complete planning process, aligning the venue and every creative partner around one production plan so the complexity remained invisible to the couple and their guests.

01

Multi-Day Coordination

Three hosted experiences were organised as one connected celebration rather than separate events.

02

Guest Communication

Guests travelling internationally needed clear information about timing, locations, activities and the rhythm of the weekend.

03

Production Direction

Catering, florals, music, lighting, photography and film operated within one coordinated schedule.

One Creative Direction

Why Planning, Photography and Film Worked Together

The photographs in this story are not separate from the planning. They are the visible result of decisions made before the camera was raised.

The wedding timeline was developed with an understanding of autumn light, guest experience and the visual rhythm of the day. Portraits were integrated without removing Yunna and Nick from their guests for long periods.

Ceremony access, dinner entrances, speeches, cake and dancing were coordinated through the same operational structure used by the planning and visual teams.

Dolce Promessa and Light & Dreams therefore did not work as unrelated suppliers. They operated as one connected team responsible for both the experience being lived and the story that would remain.

03 Light & Timing

04 Photography & Film

05 Memory

A coherent visual story that reflects how the weekend truly felt.

The Wedding Day

A Natural Flow From the Ceremony to Dinner and the Evening Celebration

The outdoor ceremony was designed to feel intimate and connected to the surrounding landscape. Flowers and greenery defined the setting without separating it from the architecture and countryside of Villa La Selva.

Following the ceremony, guests moved naturally into aperitivo before dinner, speeches, cake and dancing. Each part of the day had a clear identity, but transitions were deliberately soft so the experience never felt fragmented or over-scheduled.

The connection already created during the previous events changed the energy of the wedding day. Guests were comfortable with one another, allowing the celebration to feel emotionally immediate from the ceremony onward.

The Design Direction

Soft Florals, Candlelight and a Tablescape Designed for the Villa

The design was developed through restraint rather than excess. Natural textures, soft floral arrangements, warm lighting and an elegant dinner setting enhanced the villa without competing with its architecture or surrounding landscape.

Every decorative decision was considered in relation to the venue, the autumn season, guest experience and the visual composition of the evening.

The dinner continued the atmosphere established throughout the weekend: welcoming, refined and unmistakably connected to Tuscany.

Guest Flow & Logistics

How Timing, Communication and Guest Movement Made the Weekend Feel Effortless

For international destination weddings, guest experience begins before the ceremony. Guests need to understand the weekend structure, where each event takes place and how the different experiences connect.

The multi-event format was planned to maintain variety without creating fatigue. The informal welcome, interactive cooking class and refined wedding day each offered a different pace.

On the wedding day, transitions between ceremony, aperitivo, dinner and celebration were coordinated around service timing, music cues, photography, film and the natural movement of guests.

Behind the Images

The Visual Story Began Before the Wedding Day

The time allocated to portraits, the direction of the light, guest movement and the order of key moments were considered within the same production schedule used by Dolce Promessa and Light & Dreams.

This allowed Yunna and Nick to remain present with their guests while still creating a complete visual story. Photography did not interrupt the wedding experience because it had already been integrated into it.

The resulting images reflect the structure of the celebration: ceremony, Tuscan landscape, dinner, emotion and the movement of the evening party.

The Result

A Tuscany Wedding Weekend That Felt Warm, Connected and Completely Natural

The completed experience reflected what Yunna and Nick had imagined: a wedding rooted in place, emotionally generous and carefully structured without feeling over-produced.

The pizza party and cooking class gave guests time to settle into the destination and form genuine connections before the wedding day.

Every operational and visual element was controlled behind the scenes, allowing the couple and their guests to experience the weekend as something relaxed, spontaneous and deeply personal.
